CENTRAL HINDS Hannah Rowe and Natalie Dodd have both been named in the WHITE FERNS' first home internationals series of the 2020/21 season, while Rosemary Mair was unavailable for selection as she rebuilds her way back from the side strain that kept her out of the Dream11 Super Smash.

The squad contained two surprise names with potential debuts for Auckland Hearts schoolgirl Fran Jonas and Northern Districts captain Brooke Halliday in the 13-strong squad for the upcoming, three-match G.J. Gardner Homes ODI series against England.

The squad also features the return of Canterbury Magicians allrounder Frankie Mackay, her first selection since she sustained a luckless Achilles injury against India in 2019.

WHITE FERNS coach Bob Carter said there’s a strong desire within the team to improve on recent ODI performances.

“With the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand next year, we want to take this opportunity to build the best possible team for the tournament,” he said.

The team assembles on Wednesday 17 February in Christchurch for a training camp ahead of their first ODI against England at Hagley Oval on February 23.

Suzie Bates (shoulder) and Rosemary Mair (side strain) were not considered for selection due to injury.
