HAWKE'S BAY NAMES CHALLENGE TEAM

Hawke's Bay has named a strong side now heading to Oamaru for the Zone 2 Hawke Cup Challenge for 2020/21.

The black and whites won the right to a Challenge after again lifting the Furlong Cup this season, and will challenge current holders North Otago who took the coveted silverware off Nelson in a remarkable raid on Saxton Oval two weeks ago.

The three-day match at Oamaru's Centennial Park begins at 10.30AM this Friday. To bring the historic Hawke Cup home, Hawke's Bay must win outright or be ahead on the first innings in the event of a draw.

North Otago is meanwhile the second smallest provincial side in the Hawke Cup competition, yet has won the trophy three times since first making history in 2011, the Hawke Cup's centenary year.

The action will be live-scored every day at nzc.nz or on the NZC app and will be livestreamed on My Action Replay (visit our CD Cricket social media channels on the day for the stream link).

North Otago squad: Lachlan Kingan (captain), Tom Dempster, Ben Donkers, Stephan Grobler, Cameron Grubb, Blake James, Llew Johnson, Nick Johnston, Scott Kitto, Jeremiah Shields, Jeremy Smith
