CENTRAL DISTRICTS A

Domestic A cricket helps to prepare and condition players for the next step up: representing the Central Hinds (women) and Central Stags (men). Across the country, Major Association "A" teams now typically play against their nearest neighbours rather than competing in a national competition or tournament. All CD A matches are FREE admission

OUR CD A WOMEN'S STORY

Men's A cricket has been well established nationally for many years, but women's A cricket had been sporadic until 2022/23 when CENTRAL DISTRICTS A WOMEN was re-established and provided with structured competition against our near neighbours.

Previously, the team had competed as the 'CD women's Second XI' - such as in 1995, when CD played six matches at an NZC Women's Second XI tournament. But it had been a long time between drinks so it was doubly exciting when our new class of 2023 went through their inaugural season undefeated!

The 2023 team started with twin wins v Northern Districts A in Hamilton, then beat Wellington A back-to-back in Wellington before defeating ND A again, in both formats, at home for the first time in Levin.
