Special times in Palmerston North are coming up this weekend and Monday, with Manawatu Cricket Association marking its 125th anniversary.
Round 5 of the Shrimpton Trophy and Round 3 of the Furlong Cup were split this season to allow Manawatu to celebrate the landmark occasion whilst watching their premier men's and women's team compete for their Association, two big games against traditional rivals Hawke's Bay (men) and the Wairarapa Korus (women) to be played between Saturday and Monday in Palmerston North.
Also marking the 125th jubilee is the launch of a fascinating new book by former Manawatu representatives - and longtime servants of the game - ALEC ASTLE and MURRAY BROWN, who is also a former CD first-class representative, and MCA President.
The pair has done an outstanding job after collecting 125 years of history, stories, photographs and playing records into 125 NOT OUT - A HISTORY OF THE MANAWATU CRICKET ASSOCIATION which you can learn more about here.
CDCA wishes everyone travelling to and participating in the Association's 125th celebrations a memorable and enjoyable occasion both on and off the field!
