Central Stag WILL YOUNG will be back in black shortly when the BLACKCAPS switch their focus from T20s to One-Day Internationals.
Young was missing from the T20i squads against Australia and the current series, against England, but now comes in - alongside Kane Williamson and Nathan Smith - to the ODI squad that plays its first match at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui this Sunday.
It means Young won't be available for the first Stags Ford Trophy match of the season this Saturday in New Plymouth, but puts him in the frame to add to his 46 ODIs, 1,674 runs, four centuries, 10 fifties and 40+ average in this format for the BLACKCAPS.
The ODI Series will move on to Hamilton and Wellington after the opening clash, with all the matches streaming live and free to air on TVNZ+.
NZC says Williamson is back in the national squad after recovering from "a minor medical issue" in the past month, while Smith has been rehabilitating an abdominal injury sustained during second Test against Zimbabwe in August.
Young joins Williamson, Devon Conway, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra as the specialist ODI batsmen, with Tom Latham the keeper-batter.
The BLACKCAPS are currently ranked second in the ICC ODI rankings, while England are ranked eighth.
After the England series, the flamboyant and always entertaining West Indies will be arriving on our shores and that's exciting times for Central supports with two T20 Internationals at Nelson's Saxton Oval (Sunday 9 and Monday 10 November) and an ODI daynighter at Napier's McLean Park from 2PM Wednesday, 19 November.
These are the only international cricket matches in CD this season, with tickets on sale here and premium Hospitality lounge tickets, including dining, two drinks and a complimentary Super Smash double pass, still available for all matches.
Hospitality tickets for the Nelson games are only on sale until this Friday 24 October while Napier punters have until Wednesday, 5 November to secure catered hospitality tickets to the Graeme Lowe Lounge 2 that also includes a catered dining with two drinks package and a Super Smash complimentary double pass.
