The first CD A team of the 2023/24 summer has been named, ahead of this week's three-dayer against near neighbour Wellington A in Napier.
Central Stags and Hawke's Bay left-arm spinner JAYDEN LENNOX will lead the side onto Nelson Park from 10.30am tomorrow with former Northern Districts A representative TAYLOR BETTELHEIM selected for a Central Districts squad for the first time.
A prolific batter, Bettelheim is now based in the CD region, and slots into strong squad that also features capped Central Stags JOEY FIELD, BRETT JOHNSON, BAYLEY WIGGINS, ANGUS SCHAW, TOBY FINDLAY and LIAM DUDDING.
Rangy allrounder Field is making his way back to top flight cricket after the lengthy rehabilitation process brought about by shoulder surgery, while Dudding was one of the bowling heroes on the last day of last season when the Stags lifted the Plunket Shield.
The CD A men will be coached by ALDIN SMITH and are set to face a good Wellington A side that will be captained by former Central Stags first-class and Manawatū representative, MITCH RENWICK and contains a handful of Wellington Firebirds representatives.
The match is free admission all three days with livescoring here at www.cdcricket..co.nz
