Congratulations to CD Alumna and Central Hinds cap 17, TRUDY ANDERSON on being appointed to the International Panel of International Cricket Council Match Referees!
Trudy has had a long association and involvement with cricket in New Zealand, both as a player and administrator.
A former WHITE FERN, Trudy played in two Test matches and 26 One-Day Internationals for New Zealand between 1993 to 1997 as a right-handed top order batter.
In addition to her time on the international stage, Trudy represented Auckland, CD and Canterbury during an impressive representative career that spanned almost two decades (1980–1997).
A former physical education and mathematics teacher, Trudy took up the role of Cricket Operations Manager for Canterbury Cricket, a position she held from 1999 until 2020.
Trudy also filled the role of acting CEO for a season and during her tenure at Canterbury Cricket, she was also involved in six ICC tournaments, including most recently having been appointed to the role of Cricket Operations Manager for ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022, hosted in New Zealand.
Prior to the 2021/22 home summer, NZC approached Trudy about becoming a First Class Match Referee. In conjunction with her work on the ICC Women’s World Cup that season, Trudy was able to spend some time observing and shadowing ICC Match Referee Jeff Crowe.
Trudy was appointed to the NZC First Class Match Referee Panel the following season and now steps up to her first international panel.
