HE DID IT AGAIN, MARTY KAIN

Central Districts Cricket is really thrilled to congratulate Central Stags alumnus MARTY KAIN on his recent elevation to international cricket.

Based in San Diego since his retirement from the Central Stags in 2017, Marty fulfilled a long-held dream when he made his T20 International debut, playing two games for the United States of America against Ireland on 22 and 23 December 2021 in Lauderhill, Florida.

It was an exciting step for both Marty and USA cricket with a thrilling 26-run T20i win on debut, Marty blasting an unbeaten 39* off 15 balls with three sixes and three fours to help push USA up to what proved to be a winning total of 188/6.

Ireland bounced back to level the series next match, with Marty showing why he was always an invaluable fielder with his two catches, and a quick run-a-ball 11.

Since his Central Stags retirement, Marty has stayed in regular contact with his old teammates and Association, and has popped along to Pukekura Park when travels permit. In the USA, his coaching academy business is thriving and we are proud to see Marty making his mark on the development of the sport in this exciting market.

Born in Nelson, Marty played two Plunket Shield matches, 29 Ford Trophies and 36 T20s for the Stags as well as having represented Canterbury and the South Island.
