CENTRAL HINDS

CONTRACTED PLAYERS

The current NZC Master Agreement between New Zealand Cricket, the New Zealand Cricket Players' Association, and the six Major Associations across New Zealand means Central Districts Cricket is able to contract 13 Hinds players per season.

Women's Domestic cricket contracts in New Zealand are structured slightly differently to men's professional contracts, and are designed to compensate players for time spent away from work and studies across a shorter playing season.

The list of 2026/27 contracted players will be announced ahead of the forthcoming season.

A player doesn't necessarily need to be contracted to represent the Hinds: players also earn selection for the top squad via performances for our CD Cricket Women's A and other Development and District pathways.

Occasionally, additional contracts are announced during the season - for example, to replace a contracted player who is no longer able to fulfil her contractual obligations, or to replace a Hinds contracted player who has been 'elevated' to a WHITE FERNS contract.

17 players per year from across New Zealand are awarded WHITE FERNS contracts on an annual basis, and these players are also available to play for their home Major Association.

Women's Super Smash teams are also permitted to field up to two overseas players per game.
