CENTRAL DISTRICTS CRICKET is proud to name our men's 2022/23 CD Under 17 squad heading to Lincoln for the start of the NZC Under 17 National Tournament this week.

The men's Under 17 Nationals are welcomed back for the first time in two years, last summer's Omicron outbreak having led NZC to shelve the tournament for the 2021/22 season, and the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic having seen this tournament cancelled the previous summer as well.

CDCA Performance and Pathways Coach GLENN POCKNALL will mentor the 13-strong squad with assistance from Taranaki coach CHRIS COOMBE. The team is looking to reclaim a title we last won at this level in 2015, with ETHAN CAMPBELL named to lead the lads.

Young Taranaki spinner WILLIAM JULL was selected for the travelling squad named today, but unfortunately sustained an injury during the weekend's Furlong Cup match between Taranaki and Hawke's Bay, while Whanganui's Oscar Mabin was unavailable.

The nationals begin tomorrow, Tuesday 17 January with CD U17 playing Northern Districts U17 first up on Lincoln No.3 from 10.15am in the opening round of one-dayers.

The tournament runs until Monday 23 January, with the one-day and T20 tables combined to determine overall standings - scroll down for the full schedule.
