Nelson Cricket Association names new General Manager


Former Nelson and Central Districts cricket representative David Leonard has been appointed to the role of Nelson Cricket Association General Manager.

Mr. Leonard played 43 First-class matches and 26 List A matches for Central Districts from the 1989/90 season until 1993/94. He represented Nelson from 1985 through to 2004.

Mr. Leonard has served Nelson Cricket in many guises; as a coach for age group representative teams, in event management and as a Director from 2009. He was Chairman of the association from 2011 to 2015.

“I am both excited and privileged to be appointed to the position of General Manager of Nelson Cricket,” said Mr. Leonard.

“Over the past 4 years Nelson Cricket has grown significantly. I wish to facilitate the continued growth, participation, popularity and performance of cricket in the region through being innovative and proactive,” he said.
