GRACE FOREMAN has been awarded her first cricket contract, completing the Central Hinds’ roster for the coming 2024/25 season.

An uncapped 19-year-old seamer from New Plymouth, Foreman earns her maiden contract after steadily impressing and progressing through Taranaki's and CD’s pathway systems over recent summers.

Following selection at Central Districts U15 level, Foreman captained the New Plymouth Girls' High First XI and played for Taranaki's Senior women's team while still at school.

She has also represented Central Districts U19 consistently over recent seasons, winning the NZC national title with CD in 2022.

Six of the 2022 Under 19 champion squad are now contracted Central Hinds

The tall right-armer stepped up to make her debut for Central Districts A and was called up for an NZC Women’s U19 national camp last season, too.

Now Foreman is one step closer to fulfilling a long-held goal - a Domestic debut with the Hinds, and excited to be joining the squad for preseason training.

“I’m really grateful and honoured to get this opportunity with the Hinds," she said.

“I was shocked when [Head Coach] JACOB ORAM phoned me to offer me the contract as it has been a goal of mine for some time now.

“The prospect of playing with some of my role models is surreal, and I am really looking forward to joining the team.”

“Grace comes into the Hinds' squad to bolster our up-and-coming seam bowling stocks,” commented Central Districts Manager, High Performance DAVE MEIRING.

“She's performed well at both age-group and District level over the past couple of seasons, taking wickets regularly.

“We have a number of good spinners on our contract list, and so it’s great to be able to provide an opportunity to another strong seamer.”

Foreman hails from a Taranaki cricketing family. She's the younger sister of AMY FOREMAN who has captained Taranaki and was an NZC Pathway to Performance coaching scholarship recipient last summer.

The Foreman sisters have represented Taranaki as teammates in the Mike Shrimpton Trophy, too.

The 13-strong Hinds contracted squad is now complete, and that's in addition to NZC contracted WHITE FERNS players ROSEMARY MAIR and HANNAH ROWE who are available for the team when they are not on intrernational duties.

Central Districts Cricket congratulates all players who have earned contracts for the coming summer.

New season Hallyburton Johnstone Shield and Dream11 Super Smash schedules will be announced in the coming weeks.
