An exciting Central Districts Women's Under 19 team is heading to the 2020/21 NZC Nationals, coming up in Lincoln in early January.
Central Hinds and Manawatu allrounder ASHTUTI KUMAR has been named to captain CD U19, with Hawke's Bay's FLORA DEVONSHIRE vice-captain as the team attempts to defend the inaugural national title won by CD at the same venue - the NZC High Performance Centre in Lincoln - last season.
Kumar, Ocean Bartlett and Jessie Ogden will take those memories and invaluable experience with them as they head back to Lincoln for the tournament that starts on Wednesday, 6 January 2021.
Up and comers named in the squad will all be familiar names from CDCA's Central Super League, introduced this summer to strengthen the next tier of players coming through to play at Domestic and Under 19 level.
With the new ICC Women's Under 19 Cricket World Cup currently scheduled for 2021, the tournament is an important springboard towards selection for the inaugural New Zealand Women's Under 19 squad.
CD's Men's Under 19 team finished runners-up at the men's nationals earlier this month.
