Following the success of our first open specialist skills camp last year, Central Districts Cricket is very excited to offer three specialist skills age-group camps for young cricketers in the 2021 preseason, coming up in the October school holidays in Palmerston North.
It's especially pleasing to be offering our first female camp this year - for Under 17 GIRLS - together with U17 BOYS* and U19 BOYS camps.
2021 SPECIALIST SKILLS CAMPS
UNDER 19 BOYS' CAMP • Sat 2 to Mon 4 October 2021 • $300+GST per player*
UNDER 17 BOYS' CAMP • Sat 9 to Mon 11 October 2021 ***SOLD OUT***
UNDER 17 GIRLS' CAMP • Sat 9 and Sun 10 October 2021 • $220+GST per player*
The user-pays camps are open to ALL age-group cricketers from throughout our eight District Associations - Manawatū, Hawke's Bay, Whanganui, Taranaki, Nelson, Marlborough, Wairarapa and Horowhenua-Kāpiti. Registrations are now open, with a separate registration process to note for the BOYS camps and the GIRLS camp.
All camps provide a great opportunity to learn from our qualified CD pathway coaches, experts in their field with units including everything from batting, seam and spin bowling and wicketkeeping to strength and conditioning and mental skills.
The camps provide a great stepping stone into the 2021/22 season, but we would like to stress that non-attendance at any of these camps will in no way affect selection for our Central Districts age-group teams.
Please feel encouraged to contact DAVE MEIRING (boys' camps) and JAMIE WATKINS (girls' camp) with any queries about the camps, and to reach out in particular with any logistical questions around travelling to and from the camps, and the possibility of arranging an extra night's billet, for example, if travelling from the South Island.
All three camps are centred in Palmerston North to enable access to our professional training centres, and your accommodation and all meals are included in the camp cost.
Last year's camp quickly sold out so we strongly advise registering at your earliest opportunity to avoid missing out on a great opportunity.
